The Change You’ve Made

Godabai

Godabai was affected by leprosy, due to which her daughter-in-law forced her to live outside the house. She was living under a small tin shed with only a cot and a plate. In the same place, she had to live, eat, and even manage her sanitation needs. She spent nearly an entire year confined to a single cot in such inhumane and painful conditions. There were times when she could not bathe, nor did she have the opportunity to change her clothes. Living in such neglect and suffering, she prayed for death every day.

During this difficult time, Rasikashraya took the initiative to restore her dignity and provide much-needed care after almost a year of isolation. The organization supported her with a haircut, bathing assistance, new clothes, a cot, bedsheet, and warm clothing. In addition, the organization continues to provide her with regular follow-up support and care.

Vacchalabai

Vachhalabai Petewar was forced out of her home by her son and was living in a dilapidated and dark hut under extremely distressing conditions. During the rainy season, water would leak into the hut, making her life even more difficult and insecure. Every day began with the fear and uncertainty of whether she would live to see the next morning.

In such a difficult situation, Rasikashraya extended support to her by constructing a safe and dignified house. Today, every morning for Vachhalabai begins with happiness, security, and the comfort of living in a home she can truly call her own.

Hansabai

After the death of her son, Housabai was forced out of her home by her daughter-in-law. At the same time, her old-age pension had been discontinued due to pending KYC formalities, creating a serious challenge for her survival. In such a difficult situation, she was left with no option but to beg from neighbours for food.

During this period, she came in contact with Rasikashraya. The organisation immediately extended support by arranging two meals a day for her through a tiffin service for three months. The organisation also facilitated the process of restarting her discontinued old-age pension through necessary follow-up and support. Today, Housabai is able to manage her daily meals independently and live her life with dignity.
