Promoting
small businesses for livelihood of women SHG members by imparting them skills

With the support of R.G. Manudhan Foundation for Excellence, a skill development project was implemented across 9 slum areas and 30 villages in the Ghatanji region. Under this initiative, a total of 6,512 women received training in various livelihood skills, and were encouraged to start small-scale enterprises for sustainable income generation.
To strengthen financial inclusion and access to credit, 159 Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and 83 individual beneficiaries were linked with banks and the ‘UMED’ project. Among them, 98 SHGs and 79 individual members successfully started their own enterprises and moved towards self-employment.
To support the sale and marketing of products made by these SHGs, Rasikashraya facilitated market linkages and connected the groups directly with local markets. The organisation continues to support SHG members in their journey towards sustainable livelihoods and economic self-reliance.

Family Counseling Center

Rasikashraya, with the support of the State and Central Social Welfare Boards, established a Family Counselling Centre in 2003 with the primary objective of resolving family disputes and strengthening family relationships.
Under this initiative, the centre has addressed cases related to dowry demands, extramarital affairs, incompatibility between couples, interference from in-laws, and issues arising from alcohol and substance abuse through counselling and mediation.
Till December 2025, the centre handled a total of 2,516 cases, out of which 2,107 cases were successfully resolved through reconciliation, while 318 cases were settled through mutual consent. Through counselling and guidance, many families were prevented from breaking apart, and several couples reunited and resumed their family life together.

Support to
women in sucide farmers families

Rasikashraya has been working for the last nine years towards the empowerment of widowed and abandoned women from farmer families affected by suicide. The main objective of this initiative is to provide emotional and immediate financial support to women facing mental, social, and economic distress after the loss of their husbands, and to create sustainable livelihood opportunities that help them become self-reliant.
Under this initiative, 56 farmer widows received immediate financial assistance of ₹15,000 each, while 191 women were provided financial support of ₹25,000 each. With this support, the women started small livelihood activities such as goat rearing, tailoring, vermicelli making, and grocery shops, creating stable sources of income for their families. Some women were also supported with irrigation facilities and electricity connections, which further strengthened their livelihoods. Through these efforts, they are now able to support their families and ensure the education of their children with dignity and confidence.
